Dr. Kleppe is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and came to UT for general surgery residency. After completing his minimally invasive surgery training in Wisconsin, he came back to Knoxville to practice. Dr. Kleppe enjoys teaching surgery and has received the departmental teaching award twice. He also provides further education through the medical center's simulation lab to residents and students.
