Dr. Hicks grew up in Greeneville, Tennessee, where his passion for medicine began to develop. He completed his undergraduate and medical school education in Tennessee before relocating to southeast Michigan for his residency and fellowship. In 2023, he returned to his home state to join the University Pulmonary and Critical Care (UPCC) team. Dr. Hicks specializes in advanced asthma management and other general pulmonary diseases. He has a particular interest in ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) in the critical care setting, where he is actively involved with the UT ECMO program. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children. The family embraces adventures together, whether on the lake during the warmer months or on the ski slopes in winter.
